Quality & File Delivery:

Quality

It’s very important to note that the quality of the final product ultimately relies on the files that are sent in to be mixed. There is no magic button to make any recording or project sound “perfect”. This means that the vocal performance, delivery, energy and recording quality should be the best it possibly can be before sending any project in to be mixed and mastered.

Delivery:

Sending and receiving files are done via WeTransfer. This is so we can send large compressed zip files safe and secure as well as having a record of it. Files must be labeled and organized for the engineer. Please keep relevant audio files on one track for consistency and for saving space. This will also result in a faster turn-around time. When your song/project is completed you will be sent a compressed zip file containing a 320 kbps HQ MP3 file along with a 16 Bit WAV file for HD playback on all streaming platforms.

Turn-around Time:

Typically a project requires a 2-7 business day turn-around time but in rare cases it may take longer depending the amount of orders I have. I will do my best to deliver your project on or before the expected delivery date but in any case I can’t, please bare with me as I am only one engineer.

Orders & Payments

All payments are handled safe and securely via PayPal. After a Mix Order Request is sent, you will be emailed within 24 hours regarding your mix session, payment as well as a link to where you will upload your files to send in. I will also include a bit more information on that page as far as a simple checklist and video demo of how to prepare your files and export the tracks properly before sending in your song.

Refunds:

Please keep in mind that you are BOOKING TIME and not just the mix itself. That being said, refunds will not be granted as we cannot roll back time and someone else could have potentially had that time slot. When you order your mix you accept and agree to these terms & conditions of service.

Special Mix Requests

If you are looking to achieve a certain sound with your mix, something you heard from another artist then you may paste a reference link (from YouTube, Soundcloud etc.) in the “Project Details” section of the Order Form. From experience I have had quite a few artists mention certain FX that might not match well with the song or style. So please try and only request styles and FX that would only compliment your song naturally. Don’t force anything and definitely try and find your own style. There is nothing worse that having pointless effects in a song for no reason at all.

Pitch Correction and Auto-Tune

Every mix package has some kind of Pitch Correction/Auto-Tune option in it if needed or requested. The only thing that changes by the package is the “Basic” or “Advanced” options.

Basic Pitch Correction:

Basic Pitch Correction covers making sure the notes are in key with the instrumental so nothing sounds off. To achieve this I either use WavesTune or Melodyne. The best outcome comes from vocals that are fairly close and sang decently well. If the notes are a little flat or sharp this will correct the vocals no problem. I can then adjust several parameters to make the effect more audible or close to natural.

Advanced Pitch Correction:

Advanced Pitch Correction covers this process in much more detail. I can go in by hand fix vocal pitch word by word and even syllables. This is much more time consuming and quite the process but worth it in a lot of cases. It should also be stated that the end quality will result from how good the vocal was captured during the recording process. As mentioned before there is no “Magic Button” for quality. I have to emphasize that a great recording is key for a better mix!

Service Statement

I just want to say thank you ahead of time for choosing to work with me. I value each and everyone’s hard work and the choice to allow me to finalize your project and put that J Canan sauce on it 👊🏼. I have changed my order process from automated to more of a manual process so I can better serve my clients. This way I can be more transparent with you and decline projects if I have to regarding time and being overbooked. This was not fair to some people and I want to offer the best service I am able to. This way I can fairly let you know if I have the time or when I actually can book your project if I don’t at the moment. I should also mention all projects are handled consecutively as they come in. No one is put before someone else, out of order or gets special treatment. Thanks again for considering me for your project and I look forward to making more hits with many of you!
